Of course! The kids are our future and some of the best environmental advocates we have! We’ll have a kids-zone with lots of kid-friendly activities like a bounce house, petting zoo, play with clay, bubbles and more. Strollers and kiddos are also welcome in our Earth Day 5K, taking place in conjunction with the start of our festival.

Can I bring my kids?

How is the festival and 5K “green”?

The Party for the Planet festival and Earth Day 5K Race Without a Trace have made every effort to be environmentally friendly with measures including minimal printing of flyers and promotional materials, reusable course signage, recyclable bibs, organic t-shirts, recycling and composting at the festival, clean-up of the course before and after the race, and very minimal power usage. Being held in conjunction with Party for the Planet also helps to encourage runners and walkers to participate in the festival activities and support sustainability in RVA.

While power usage will be kept at a minimum, the Dominion Energy Green Power team will purchase enough renewable energy certificates (RECs - a receipt that proves that the power came from a renewable resource) on our behalf to match the event’s electricity usage.
